Summary

The bestselling author of Good Girls Die First and It's Behind You is back with an entertaining, high-octane and read-in-a-single-sitting new thriller。

When teen reality star Anton Frazer unveils his latest stunt - a live-streamed, citywide game of Tag in which the prize is to be one of his live-in acolytes - his fans go wild。 The whole world is watching。

The contestants are kitted out with body cams, GPS trackers and pressure sensors that, if activated by a competitor, will send them out of the running。 They venture into night-time London to hunt each other down。

Four contestants in particular have alternative motives for being there, secret reasons to want to win despite the risk: money, revenge, obsession, and fame。 And one of them will stop at nothing to be the victor at the end of this adrenaline-and-fear fuelled night。。。

3。5 stars This creeped me out suitably。 I didn’t see the plotter being who it was, but it made perfect sense。 I liked the whole mass game of tag and the interesting spin of the murder mystery too。 Don’t recommend reading this at night ha!

Full review to come, but for now suffice to say TAG, YOU’RE DEAD is a fantastically fun, fast-paced & mega-creepy high-tech thriller - packed with Kathryn Foxfield’s trademark morally-dubious-but-likeable characters, unreliable narrators, laugh-out-loud moments & SO MANY TWISTS。 I suspected everyone, constantly, and still got caught by surprise at the ending。 Loved it!

I really love this book。。。 I am now a die hard Katherine Foxfield reader。 No-one does mystery better! After reading her first book I loved her writing style and have been collecting her series(?) ever since。 I do have to admit that her first book (Good girls die first) is my favourite and this one was possibly her weakest although, I may be bias as the topics of social media and influencers aren't really my favourite thing to read about as I have seen it too many times before。 I found most of the I really love this book。。。 I am now a die hard Katherine Foxfield reader。 No-one does mystery better! After reading her first book I loved her writing style and have been collecting her series(?) ever since。 I do have to admit that her first book (Good girls die first) is my favourite and this one was possibly her weakest although, I may be bias as the topics of social media and influencers aren't really my favourite thing to read about as I have seen it too many times before。 I found most of the characters amazing my favourite being Erin but one of the main characters Grayson really got on my nerves; We learn later in the book that he is a stalker but his constant innocence and frankly dumbness annoyed me to no end!😡To end I will give you a spoiler so close if you don't want to know the murderer。。。。。 It is Grayson This explains his behaviour and after I learnt this it really helped me realise how he was obviously involved。 His constant innocence is because he doesn't want the others to know he killed their friend。 I am kicking myself it was so OBVIOUS!!! I enjoyed this book so much I read it ONE day。 True fact。 The setting and premise are extremely compelling — a live-streamed game of tag held in central London。 BEST BITS:- complete page turner-multi POV with distinct voices-fun and familiar London settings like the Natural History Museum- 'Trust no one', Agatha Christie vibe-amusing dialogue- subtle commentary on social media / toxic relationships- good reveal - while i didn't guess whodunnit, it made total sense。 I enjoyed this book so much I read it ONE day。 True fact。 The setting and premise are extremely compelling — a live-streamed game of tag held in central London。 BEST BITS:- complete page turner-multi POV with distinct voices-fun and familiar London settings like the Natural History Museum- 'Trust no one', Agatha Christie vibe-amusing dialogue- subtle commentary on social media / toxic relationships- good reveal - while i didn't guess whodunnit, it made total sense。 。。。more

I’ve wanted to read Kathryn Foxfield for AGES and just haven’t got round to it, so when I was offered a copy of this one, I just had to say yes。 It follows three teenagers who enter a citywide game set up by a popular influencer, all for very different reasons: Grayson, to seek revenge for the death of his ex girlfriend Rose; Charlotte, in a bid to get closer to her idol Anton Frazer; and Erin, who wants to win the money up for grabs so she can escape her controlling mother。 They’re all such com I’ve wanted to read Kathryn Foxfield for AGES and just haven’t got round to it, so when I was offered a copy of this one, I just had to say yes。 It follows three teenagers who enter a citywide game set up by a popular influencer, all for very different reasons: Grayson, to seek revenge for the death of his ex girlfriend Rose; Charlotte, in a bid to get closer to her idol Anton Frazer; and Erin, who wants to win the money up for grabs so she can escape her controlling mother。 They’re all such complex, morally questionable people, as are our secondary characters, and it was so hard to choose a suspect because it felt like every one of them was capable of murder。 I love books where there’s some kind of contest or game so this was no exception, and while the original idea of people either running from or chasing their competitors was exciting, the way things turn when someone hijacks it and totally changes the rules makes it absolutely THRILLING。 I genuinely couldn’t put it down, and I can’t wait to pick up more Kathryn Foxfield someday soon (I’m thinking It’s Behind You would be PERFECT for Halloween…)。 。。。more

I received a review copy from the publishers in exchange for an honest review。 It has not affected my opinions。Having loved Kathryn Foxfield's previous books, particularly IT'S BEHIND YOU, I was very excited for this。 It's a tense murder mystery across London alongside what's supposed to be a "fun" social media game influence's game (read: attention seeking grab - I was immediately pre-disposed to dislike the star from the stunt alone) that gets subverted and turns deadly quickly。This felt, pers I received a review copy from the publishers in exchange for an honest review。 It has not affected my opinions。Having loved Kathryn Foxfield's previous books, particularly IT'S BEHIND YOU, I was very excited for this。 It's a tense murder mystery across London alongside what's supposed to be a "fun" social media game influence's game (read: attention seeking grab - I was immediately pre-disposed to dislike the star from the stunt alone) that gets subverted and turns deadly quickly。This felt, personally, like it fell more on the thriller side than horror, in contrast to previous books。 It always felt like it was a human behind it, with a very human motivation (covering up/uncovering a murder and/or secrets) rather than supernatural, which is one of the ways I differentiate between the two。This is a three POV book - a superfan, a lifestyle influencer's daughter, and the ex-boyfriend of the gamer's dead employee。 They all have reasons to enter, and like everyone else in the game, a lot of secrets。 The author has said she's expecting you to hate all of them very quickly, and while I wouldn't say I hated them quite as much as she had implied, they certainly aren't the sort of characters you like。They're very self-absorbed, all caught in self-created (and in Erin's case, encouraged by those around her) delusions that you want to break down。 You're not following them along because you want them to succeed to achieve their goals, but because you want their fantasies to be ripped apart and then to face the truth (and also find out what the answer to the mystery is。)I loved following the unveiling of all the many secrets, each one making you question your current guess of who was the murderer - and who was behind the derailing of the game。 There are so many layers and twists to it。Also, set in London! I love books in London that are written by people clearly familiar with it, because all the details are just right。 And the way major locations and transport are woven in are so much fun。 。。。more
